Responsibilities

• Read and implement care/activities of daily living (ADLs) according to the resident service plan within the scope of practice of certification or licensure
• Effectively work within professional scope of practice per state laws, regulations, and professional standards
• Respond to resident needs, pendant calls, and other community alarms in a timely manner
• Demonstrate empathy and develop caring rapport with residents
• Promote resident independence and self-care
• Deliver care and services in accordance with individual service plans for all assigned residents
• Maintain accurate and complete records of care delivered
• Conduct a visual safety check on all assigned residents at the start and end of each shift, and effectively communicate resident status with the next shift
• Communicate changes in resident condition to nursing in a timely and effective manner
• Complete incident reports accurately and timely
• Understand and follow policies pertaining to safety and infection control, demonstrating practices to control the spread of communicable illnesses
• Promote a clean, orderly, and safe environment
• Recognize, respond to, and report concerns in the resident's environment to ensure safety and comfort

Requirements

• Must have HCA; CNA preferred
• Must have word processing skills
• Must have current CPR certification, First Aid training, and Food Handler’s permit as required by state regulations
• Must complete all state-required trainings as necessary
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience
