We're hiring two positions—Store Manager-in-Training and Front-End Manager-in-Training—designed to be filled together by two people who know each other (e.g., a couple, close friends, or family members). About the Role
This is a training position that prepares you for a Front End Department Manager role upon completion. You’ll play a vital part in our stores and the communities they serve, handling diverse tasks and contributing to team success.
Responsibilities
- Share your knowledge, experience, and best practices to foster team growth
- Build team spirit across departments and achieve sales goals
- Adapt to community needs by planning and reacting to changes
- Order retail products as needed and operate cash lanes
- Create eye-catching displays and execute planograms
- Serve customers and community residents with exceptional service
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in a high-volume grocery/retail environment
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail
- Proven organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and superior customer service
- Ability and desire to develop an in-depth understanding of ACC's customers
- Commitment to ACC’s vision, mission, values, and strategies
- Highly motivated, adventurous, and appreciative of small-town life in a culturally diverse setting
- Ability to work in extreme conditions in remote parts of Alaska
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and stand for long periods daily
- Willingness to train in any ACC location and relocate based on operational needs
- Must be willing to relocate to rural Alaska (relocation arrangements and costs covered by ACC)

Housing Guidelines
Company-provided housing is for employees and their immediate family (spouse/partner and dependent children). Most units have an occupancy limit of four. Exceptions require advance approval from the Director of Operations.
Pet Policy
Pets are generally discouraged due to remote locations and limited veterinary access. Requests are reviewed case-by-case, with a firm limit of two pets per unit where permitted. Service animals are allowed per applicable laws.
