Career-track clinical professor (streaming media production and management)
Location: Arizona State University, Downtown Phoenix campus
About the role
The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University seeks an experienced and innovative professional to serve as the lead instructor teaching students to produce, edit and manage content for audiences on streaming video platforms. Utilizing the School's streaming video platform, Cronkite+, as a laboratory, this role combines editorial leadership, mentorship, and teaching, ensuring students develop professional-level skills needed to thrive in a media environment rapidly evolving toward non-linear programming, on-demand video, and free advertising supported TV (FAST).
This role will help manage and facilitate collaborations with key partners, both internal and external to Cronkite, for streaming video production, including the School's live production operations, capstone programs, courses, and external events involving student instruction. Success is measured by the professor's ability to build an instructional production model that advances student learning and strengthens Cronkite+ as a learning and audience engagement platform. The role is central to Cronkite's efforts to integrate classroom learning with real-world production, business strategy, and industry-facing partnerships.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, 12-month appointment with a faculty rank of assistant, associate, or full clinical professor, based on qualifications and experience. It is a year-to-year appointment, not a tenure-track position, with no research or creative activity responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Instructional leadership for Cronkite+ and related channels
- Live production instruction and support
- Teaching lower-, upper-, and graduate-division courses connected to live event production, streaming media, and media business
- Close collaboration across the Cronkite School and with external partners
- Performing other duties as assigned
