About the Role

The Career Service Advisor (CSA) advises students on career interests, job search strategies, resume preparation, and personal and professional development. The CSA coordinates job search readiness, execution, and placement for students in alignment with Westcliff University policies. This role plays a significant part in the university’s growth, allowing you to contribute personally to our progress.

Responsibilities

  • Meet established goals and objectives as provided by the Director.
  • Ensure accurate entry of all placement activities into the Career Services Portal.
  • Work with local and national managers to identify job opportunities for pending graduates, assist in securing interviews, and support job placement.
  • Maintain positive relationships with employers to place current and future graduates.
  • Engage and actively partner with students from admissions to employment through activities such as mock interviews, professional workshops, resume writing, and workforce preparation.
  • Assist students in job searches and advise them on employment procedures.
  • Partner with students, alumni, and employers to schedule employment interviews.
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Conduct graduate exit interviews and complete required paperwork to evaluate job interests.
  • Follow up with students and employers regarding resume submissions and interviews.
  • Develop relationships with new employers to generate placements exceeding 75% of graduates (no less than 70% during the Annual Reporting period).
  • Enter all activity, student/graduate/employer information, and job orders into the database accurately and in real-time.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, or Special Education disciplines.
  • At least 2-4 years of proven success in HR, people development, career services, or employer talent operations strongly preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of corporate B2B relations, sales, corporate outreach, or marketing experience preferred.

Skills

  • Coaching experience.
  • Existing business relationships in the market (a plus).
  • Proficiency in personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and develop credibility.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Database management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make evaluative judgments.
  • Interviewing skills.
