About the Role

The Career Advisor supports students in preparing for successful careers by engaging with them on resume preparation, career development, mock interviewing, and the job search process. This role ensures employment outcomes are met compliantly and may also promote advanced training opportunities for students and manufacturer-paid Elective programs. Ideal candidates excel in relationship-building, presentations, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with identifying local employment opportunities, populating job boards, creating resumes, and coordinating campus events to support students in their job search.
• Prepare active students for industry employment through mock interviews, resume workshops, career counseling, career development courses, and job search techniques.
• Plan and coordinate career fairs, employer visits, expos, virtual employer sessions, and other employment events to connect students with employers and highlight entry-level opportunities.
• Partner to promote student and manufacturer-paid MSATs by delivering informational presentations, guiding students on career opportunities, and sharing the value of advanced training.
• Ensure strong employment rates for students and graduates through follow-ups via one-on-one meetings, classroom surveys, presentations, phone calls, text messages, social media, and collaboration with the EDGE team to market students to employers.
• Maintain compliance with ACCSC standards and state guidelines by accurately collecting and recording employment records for students and graduates.
• Follow up with graduates and employers to ensure timely and accurate submission of employment verification information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required; some college courses preferred.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience required.
• 1-2 years of high-volume phone or sales experience required.
• Industry knowledge preferred.
• Solid understanding of metrics-driven environments with a proven record of meeting or exceeding defined metrics.

Abilities

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds for 5% or less of the workday.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for 5% or less of the workday.
• Ability to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn, and reason for the entire workday.
• Ability to sit and walk or move around for prolonged periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to use a keyboard and perform manual tasks for prolonged periods throughout the workday.

Work Environment

• Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
• Travel required up to 15% of the time.
