Career Advancement Charter School - Career and Adult Learning Services - 1 FTE
About the role
The Santa Cruz County Office of Education is seeking a Career Advancement Charter School teacher to support the CAC Adult High School Diploma Program. This position provides flexible, itinerant instruction based on student and program needs, including independent study, literacy and math intervention, career readiness coaching, small-group instruction, digital literacy support, and ESL/ELD instruction.
Responsibilities
- Deliver independent study instruction, targeted literacy and math intervention, and career readiness coaching, including resume writing and job search strategies.
- Instruct small groups and provide digital literacy support.
- Teach English as a Second Language/English Language Development (ESL/ELD).
- Adapt to diverse learning goals of adult students to support their progress toward high school completion and career advancement.
- Support students in achieving high school completion and career readiness.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Hold an appropriate California Teaching Credential; Multiple or Single Subject.
- Have English Learner (EL) Authorization.
- Valid Class C California Driver's License.
- Valid TB Test.
- MA (pro-rated) stipend $1,500; Doctorate (pro-rated) stipend $400.
- Bilingual Preferred.

Schedule
This is an itinerant position with a 185-day work year starting August 2026. May require working afternoon and evening hours based on student need.
Location
The position may carry a caseload of students at one or more of the following locations: Career Advancement Charter North County, Career Advancement Charter South County, and Santa Cruz Corrections or Probation.
