About the role
The Care Provider (On-Call) will supervise, ensure the safety of children, organize activities, engage with parents, and respond to emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and ensure the safety of children.
- Organize quiet/active activities appropriate for various age groups.
- Interact with children and carry out small group activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages learning, creativity, and positive interactions among children.
- Assist children with bathroom breaks, comforting them when upset, and resolving conflicts.
- Monitor children’s conversation, manners, behaviors, and cleanup activities.
- Assist children to nap if needed.
- Use positive discipline techniques in guiding children's behavior.
- Maintain records of care provided, track data, and monitor children’s waiting room equipment and materials.
- Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Maintain equipment, materials, and emergency supplies, and reorder supplies when needed.
- Maintain a list and display of informational and various resource items of interest for parents.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent the Company in a professional manner.
- Maintain personal safety, use personal protection equipment (PPE), and follow Company policies.
- Report all and any safety issues, accidents or injuries to your manager as a matter of priority.
- Promote the health and safety of participants and follow safety and emergency procedures.
Requirements
- Education: AS Degree with an emphasis in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration or related field; bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Experience: Experience in childcare or babysitting, preferably in a group setting; knowledge of age-appropriate activities, mealtime routines, and child development principles; ability to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with children and their parents; basic understanding of child safety and first aid procedures; reliable, punctual, and able to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment; flexibility in working hours.
- Physical Health Screening (every 2 years thereafter), Fingerprinting Clearance (DOJ), Current Immunizations (TB (every 2 years thereafter), Influenza (yearly), MMR, Pertussis), Clearances Child Abuse Index, Current CPR & First Aid Certificate (every 2 years thereafter).
- Skills: Independent thinker, possess excellent customer service skills, professional attitude, a high level of personal integrity, maturity, and business judgment required; able to multi-task, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, able to do presentations and maintain confidential information; strong analytical skills and demonstrated detail; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to remain tactful under pressure and present a professional demeanor and communication style with co-workers in a multicultural setting; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer, especially advanced Excel.
