Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician assists in direct patient care specific to the unit assigned; assists with patient transfers and repositioning, transporting of patients, supplies, or specimens; and performs other duties as deemed necessary to ensure optimal patient care and physician service, under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides patient care based upon the nursing process in accordance with the hospital's mission & vision, as directed and observed by the RN/LPN.
- Works under limited supervision and follows written and oral instructions.
- Demonstrates effective communications skills, empathy, and unconditional positive regard toward all patients and co-workers.
- Complies with organizational requirements, including policies, procedures, and regulations specific to the unit.
- Maintains annual education requirements prior to the due date.
- Knowledge and implementation of standardized PPE regarding the prevention / transmission of infectious disease / isolation processes.

Position Qualifications
- Certifications: None required.
- Experience: Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
