Care Partner (Med Surg) Nights - Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital

About the role

Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This position is a full-time nightshift Care Partner located at Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day delivery of patient care.
• Facilitate efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
• Serve as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
• Support unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.
• Additional duties may be assigned.

Technical Capabilities

• Clinical Competencies (Novice): Demonstrates competence with interventions (such as point of care testing, vital signs, etc.) in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Care Partner Patient Documentation (Novice): Independently works with clinical applications for patient documentation.
• Environment of Care (Novice): Demonstrates ability to set up and maintain patient rooms, supplies, and equipment. Requires some support and instruction from others; able to train and educate peers.
• Planning & Organizing (Novice): Anticipates basic resource needs, identifies discrete tasks, participates in goal setting, defines dependencies, schedules activities, meets deadlines, and organizes work for own assignments. Prepares clear and accurate status reports on patient care assignments.

Schedule

• Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Weekly schedule: (3) 12-hour shifts with weekend shift requirements
• Shifts rotate weekly
• Unit is open Monday – Sunday
