CARE Driver

Responsibilities

• Transporting children to or from school.
• Performing daily checks of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, fuel, and safety equipment to ensure they are in working order.
• Reporting any van malfunctions or needed repairs.
• Refilling gas as needed.
• Complying with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
• Helping children follow safety rules while boarding and exiting vans, and while escorting children across roads and parking lots.
• Maintaining attendance records of participants.
• Keeping van interiors clean for passengers.
• Other program support duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid North Carolina state driver’s license.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to drive a non CDL passenger vans or bus.
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

Pay

The hiring range is $12-$14 per hour.

Schedule

The C.A.R.E. program operates during the school year (August through June) from 7:30am to 6:00pm. Morning and/or afternoon driving shifts available. Drivers will work 10-25 hours per week.
