About the role
We are seeking a Care Assistant to join Belmont House Nursing Home in Stocksbridge, near Sheffield. Belmont House provides compassionate family-led nursing, residential, and dementia care. The role involves helping residents with personal support and care, aiding their emotional well-being and social needs, supporting them at meal times, interacting with residents on a personal level, and maintaining and developing their care plans.
Responsibilities
- Helping residents with personal support and care
- Aiding residents' emotional well-being and social needs
- Serving residents at meal times
- Interacting with residents on a personal level
- Maintaining and developing residents' care plans to ensure their needs are met
Requirements
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to engage well with residents and their families
- An understanding of people with dementia
- Experience as a Care Assistant is preferred but not essential
- Hold an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or be willing to work towards this qualification
Qualifications
Be no stranger to working long shifts. No prior experience as a Care Assistant is required, but experience is preferred.
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with residents and their families.
