Care Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Utilize medical devices to help manage patients with chronic conditions on-site and online with other clinical team members.
  • Aid in direct patient care as per established protocol and coordinate the team to meet objectives.
  • Teach elderly patients how to use the mobile app and medical device, and assist with troubleshooting tech issues.
  • Communicate effectively with both tech-savvy and non-tech savvy individuals, explaining technology concepts clearly and patiently.
  • Collaborate with teammates, providers, and clinic staff, ensuring smooth communication and task completion.
  • Assist with direct patient care procedures, taking patient histories, vital signs, preparing charts, and assisting with medical examinations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records and perform routine specialized procedures according to established protocols.
  • Obtain necessary labs and tests as directed by the provider.
  • Manage clinic inventories and supplies, and educate patients on specific medical issues within designated parameters.
  • Direct patient flow according to provider schedules and patient appointment times.
  • Ensure assigned examination rooms are maintained and ready for use.
  • Support clinic activities by performing routine administrative tasks and coordinating office activities.
  • Practice and adhere to safety, environmental, and infection control measures.
  • Initiate and conduct patient outreach calls using provided scripts to schedule appointments, provide follow-up care information, and promote health education.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or above is required.
  • Exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated patience and empathy, particularly when working with the elderly.
  • Familiarity with fundamental medical procedures and terminologies is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Capacity to lead and motivate peers, with a commitment to maintaining precise records.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and technical platforms such as Google Workspace (Chat, Doc, Spreadsheet, Slides) and Zoom.
