Care Assistant

About the role

The primary responsibility of a Care Assistant is to provide compassionate care to residents in a residential care facility. This includes assisting with daily living activities, medication management, and ensuring the comfort and safety of the residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, eating, and other personal hygiene needs
• Monitor residents' health and report any changes to the nursing staff
• Manage medications according to prescribed schedules
• Participate in scheduled rounds and meetings with nursing staff
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and common areas

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Experience working with elderly individuals preferred but not required
• Pass a background check and drug screening

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and ability to handle stressful situations

Skills

• Basic computer skills
• First aid and CPR certification (preferred but not required)

Pay

The pay range for this position is $15 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Care Assistants are typically scheduled for 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with some weekend and holiday coverage required.
