About the role
The primary responsibility of a Care Assistant is to provide compassionate care to residents in a residential care facility. This includes assisting with daily living activities, medication management, and ensuring the comfort and safety of the residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, eating, and other personal hygiene needs
- Monitor residents' health and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Manage medications according to prescribed schedules
- Participate in scheduled rounds and meetings with nursing staff
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and common areas
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Experience working with elderly individuals preferred but not required
- Pass a background check and drug screening
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and ability to handle stressful situations
Skills
- Basic computer skills
- First aid and CPR certification (preferred but not required)

Pay
The pay range for this position is $15 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Care Assistants are typically scheduled for 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with some weekend and holiday coverage required.
