Care Assistant - Assisted Living

About the role

The Care Assistant position at Sioux Center Health's Assisted/Independent Living facility, Crown Pointe Estates, focuses on providing comprehensive support to residents. This role includes personal care, meal service, housekeeping, and activity assistance.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned responsibilities as delegated by RN supervisor to care for each individual resident.
• Provides feedback to RN/LPN supervisor regarding resident care and reports resident concerns appropriately.
• Assures safety of all residents.
• Assists with meal set up and serving, ensuring all residents receive meal service either in their room or through the dining room.
• Cleans all community areas such as elevators, restrooms, offices, hallways, etc.
• Assists activities coordinator with activities as needed.
• Provides assistance for residents as needed or requested for daily living tasks, including transfers, general housekeeping, and laundry services.
• Completes charting and documentation on residents, available to take vital signs.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Experience in working with the elderly population preferred, but not required.
• Certified Nurse Aide Certification preferred, but not required.
• Must obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire date.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with residents and staff.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.
• Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures.

Pay

$12.00 per hour.

Schedule

Part time day shift, 11.5 hours per week with rotating holidays and every third weekend.
