About the role

The Care Advocate is a dedicated healthcare professional who compassionately and quickly advocates for our members' care by educating members and providers about benefit plans, scheduling appointments, navigating bills, and arranging transportation for Medicare lines of business.

Responsibilities

  • Educate members and providers about benefit plans
  • Schedule member appointments
  • Navigate bills and resolve billing inquiries
  • Arrange transportation for Medicare lines of business
  • Address member and provider questions, problems, or complaints with active listening, empathy, and compassion

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; AA degree preferred
  • Basic understanding of medical and healthcare terms and processes preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive customer service skills, including active listening, empathy, and compassion
  • Resourcefulness, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and teamwork orientation
  • Technical proficiency in software navigation, web-based programs, and office applications
  • Flexibility to meet changing business demands
  • Ability to be present, complete tasks, consistently do the right thing, and work toward business goals
  • Appetite for growth, learning, and working in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Ability to learn new lines of business, software, platforms, and methods for processing member and provider service requests
