About the role

As a Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) at CHI Health Lakeside, you will play a crucial role in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel in this role, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Assists with pre-procedure education and preparing patient for procedure.
• Collaborates with other staff to assure patient has a thorough understanding of procedure and is able to answer questions as needed.
• Affirms patient is positioned properly for the procedure.
• Affirms EKG electrodes are properly placed and cardiac electrodes correctly applied.
• Affirms skin is prepped and sterilized appropriately prior to procedural draping.
• Sets up patient and sterile equipment in accordance to the performing physician’s preferences.
• Scrubbs and assists physicians during procedures.
• Affirms physician in sterile placement of invasive and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
• Uses fine motor skills to assist physician with the placement/deployment/use of invasive catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, Intra-aortic balloon counter-pulsation equipment, percutaneous left ventricular assist devices, implantable cardiac devices, and electrophysiology catheters/3-D intra-cardiac conduction mapping.
• Performs monitoring function throughout procedures. Documents clinical information in patient record.
• Operates hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
• Recognizes and reports changes in the cardiac rhythm.
• Recognizes and reports changes in hemodynamic waveforms.
• Accurately documents the flow of events from start thru completion of procedure.
• Operates hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
• Performs arterial and/or venous sheath removal utilizing deployment of closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression and transport patients.
• Performs daily maintenance, quality assurance testing, equipment cleaning, and supply re-stocking.
• Effectively communicates and works cooperatively with team members, patients, families, guests, and providers.

Requirements

• Medical Radiographer: NE, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months and
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire and
• Medical Radiographer: IA, upon hire

Qualifications

The posted compensation range of $32.30 - $48.05 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
