Cardiovascular Medical Assistant Scholarship opportunity

About the role

The Medical Clinical Assistant Scholarship Program is offered in partnership between the Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) and Fletcher Technical Community College. It awards educational scholarships to internal and external candidates interested in advancing to become a certified medical assistant with the opportunity for gainful employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record patient histories and clinical data
• Perform noninvasive and peripheral examinations of the cardiovascular system under physician supervision
• Aid in diagnosis and therapeutic treatments through investigative and examination procedures
• Analyze and document diagnostic procedures
• Consult with physicians regarding patient care and treatment plans
• Operate and monitor medical equipment
• Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines

Requirements

• Copy of current TABE, ACT, or Accuplacer scores meeting the following minimum score requirements - dated no earlier than 5 years prior to application.
• College transcript(s) may be submitted in place of test scores to meet required eligibility.
• (Must be eligible for or have completed Engl 1000 and Math 0098/Math 1104 or higher)
• ACT: English – 16 & Math – 15
• Accuplacer Next Gen: Writing – 225 & Math QRAS – 242
• TABE (Test of Adult Basic Edu): Level 4 or higher
• Proof of High School graduation or GED/Hisse
• Two professional letters of recommendation
• Official resume with contact information
