About the role
Penrose Hospital, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is seeking a Cardiovascular Lab Specialist. The position is available on a PRN basis in the Cardiology department.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians in performing a variety of highly specialized Cardiovascular procedures including, but not limited to, diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operation (IABP), and electrophysiology studies.
Requirements
- One year of Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience, preferred. Special procedures experience, preferred.
- A graduate of a diploma, associate or baccalaureate academic program in health science or Graduate of an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology also acceptable.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire or within 6 Months of Hire.
- Colorado Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technologist Certification upon hire unless performing SA duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration (required for Colorado employed staff only).
- For RCIS role, one of the following licenses is required: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI; Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES); RRT with post primary certification of Cardiac-Interventional Radiography through ARRT.
Qualifications
- Qualified external applicants with at least six months of direct Cardiovascular Lab Specialist or RCIS experience are eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus!
- $4.75/hr specialty differential applies.

Pay
The posted compensation range is $33.40 - $56.26 /hour.
Schedule
Full-time, 72 hours per two-week pay period, including call requirements. 30 minute callback radius applies.
Physical Requirements
Medium Work - Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly.
