Maintains and Operates Equipment
Maintains and operates equipment and supplies for cardiovascular procedures, ensuring proper setup and sterilization.
Medical Records Production
Produces accurate and timely medical records for each patient based on the scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions.
Training and Supervision
- Trains and supervises new personnel, providing orientation and ongoing education.
Quality and Performance Improvement
Participates in quality and performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance
- Maintains accuracy and security of medical records, following prescribed processes for documentation.
- Ensures adherence to regulatory standards and enforces safety regulations.
Emergency Response
- Takes scheduled emergency calls and responds in a timely manner.
Procedures and Treatment
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures, including coronary, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and peripheral interventions.
- Verifies orders, facilitates implementation, and communicates with physicians as needed.
- Administers and evaluates effectiveness of treatments and medications according to policy and training.
Other Duties
- Responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and performs within the scope of practice for the position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation.
- Knowledge of Cardiovascular anatomy.
- Knowledge of Vascular anatomy.
- Knowledge of Hemodynamic Monitoring.
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry.
- Ability to monitor patient blood pressure, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry using sophisticated clinical equipment.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.
- Preparation and positioning of patients and selection of anatomic and technical parameters.
- Preparation and administration of contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable regulations.
- Observation of patient during procedure and reporting of abnormal activity.
- Maintenance of monitoring protocols and recommendations for updates or refinements.
- Following radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Performance of specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory agency standards.
- Knowledge of electrophysiology diagnostic procedures (preferred).
- Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures (preferred).
- Knowledge of peripheral diagnostic procedures (preferred).
- Knowledge of peripheral intervention procedures (preferred).
- Knowledge of interventional cardiology procedures (preferred).
- Basic EKG interpretation (preferred).
Education and Certification
- Associate degree [Required]
- Bachelor's degree [Preferred]
- Field of study in Science [Required]

- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]
