Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Grapevine is preparing to open in Early 2027. We are assembling an elite team of cardiovascular professionals to help define the future of heart care in one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions. As a new team member, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a state-of-the-art heart hospital designed to deliver world-class, patient-centered cardiovascular care.
Select roles will begin as early as Summer 2026, allowing you to complete comprehensive orientation and training at our nationally recognized Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospitals. This immersive experience ensures you are fully prepared, aligned with our culture, and equipped with the highest standards of clinical excellence before the Grapevine campus opens.
Candidates must live within a 15-mile radius of the facility. Cath Lab experience is preferred, but new graduates will be considered. Orientation will be held at other Heart Hospital facilities within the DFW area.
Responsibilities
- Assists Physicians with arteriograms/catheterizations, permanent pacemaker implantations, implantable cardiac defibrillators, diagnostic and interventional peripheral and coronary procedures, and thrombolytic therapy.
- Follows national and state radiation protection regulations for patients, self, and staff.
- Provides emergency procedures such as CPR and defibrillation as needed.
- Performs pre- and post-procedure care and monitoring.
- Orients patients for catheterization or electrophysiology procedures and answers related questions to ensure patient comfort.
- Monitors patient’s ECG, pressures, temperature, and impedances in the Electrophysiology Lab; notifies physician of variances.
- Assists in running RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3D mapping, and records other procedural documentation.
- Manages and maintains images, including stenosis testing, formatting, and processing for both cardiac and peripheral cases.
- Assists in procedure rooms and collects registry and quality data on appropriate forms.
- Gathers catheterization data and prepares procedure reports.
- Prepares and maintains sterile fields for Lab procedures.
- Orders and maintains inventory of procedure room supplies; ensures rooms are adequately stocked and equipment has not expired.
- Coordinates and/or audits resources during yearly inventories.
- Performs routine calibration and maintenance of complex equipment; notifies appropriate team members for fixes.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new staff and students.
- Oversees quality control monitoring, such as NPSG auditing, turnaround times, and performance improvement initiatives (daily, monthly, and/or quarterly).
- Participates in mutual governance, department, hospital, or professional organizations and committees, including LEAN initiatives, NOBLE, 5S projects, inter-departmental committees, professional organization participation, and QC assurance with managers.
- Oversees committees as requested.
- Transports patients to and from procedural areas.
- Demonstrates good customer service skills.
Requirements
Must meet one of the following education and/or experience requirements:
- Associate's degree in a related field, or
- Completion of a US military training program and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree, or
- 2 years of related cardiovascular lab experience.
Must be available for on-call response requirements per facility/department policy. Knowledge and ability to apply complex invasive cardiac and vascular values, instrumentation, and techniques. Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
Qualifications
- Cath Lab experience preferred; new graduates considered.
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire/transfer:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT-R (Radiography) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
Schedule
- Full-time, Days
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- 4-5 call shifts per month, including one weekend call shift every 6-7 weeks
