Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Technologist

Summary

This position is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, properly documenting all chronologically procedural events, analytical calculations, medications, equipment set‑up and operation, and instrumentation. The technologist assists the physician during sterile procedures and assumes responsibility for completion of other functions as assigned. The role works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.

Duties

• Assists provider with cardiovascular procedures by scrubbing and/or first assisting to achieve optimal patient care.
• Maintains knowledge/expertise of all cardiovascular procedures and team functions, of instruments and supplies used for electrophysiology and interventional cardiovascular procedures, and provides input for equipment purchase while maintaining a cost‑effective inventory.
• Assists with safely transporting patients pre‑operative to the operating room, positioning patients for the operative procedure, and transporting them to the post‑operative area.
• Maintains and monitors aseptic technique to reduce risk of surgical site infection as well as contamination of peers.
• Performs advanced computer operations and clerical functions, including assembling patient charts, ordering supplies, and compiling reports.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Completion of AART, RCIS, LPN, or RN program required.
• Registered Cardio Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred; LPN or Registered Nurse also acceptable.
• ARRT Radiology Tech license preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• EMT – Emergency Medical Technician preferred.
• Two years’ experience in OR, Cath Lab, or special procedures preferred.

Pay

• Hourly rate: $32.83 – $49.25
• Sign‑On Bonus available
