  • About the Role

    Tufts Medical Center is seeking motivated candidates with a bachelor's degree in a related science, such as Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Biology, Physiology, or a similar field. We also encourage applicants with a cardiovascular background, including Stress Test Technologists, Cardiovascular Technologists, and other cardiac diagnostic professionals, to apply.

    Job Description

    • Prepares the EP Lab for procedures
    • Aids in clean up and turnover of room
    • Assists in preparing patient for electrophysiology procedures
    • Operates and troubleshoots electrophysiology equipment
    • Performs hemodynamic monitoring
    • Assists in maintaining a sterile environment
    • Ensures proper radiation safety protocols are followed
    • Notifies physician of elevated radiation doses
    • Participates in quality assurance initiatives
    • Manages supplies and equipment
    • Collaborates with the healthcare team
    • Responds to emergencies and provides immediate assistance

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Documents procedure charges, supply charges, fluoroscopy time, and radiation dose
    • Maintains a sterile environment within the EP lab
    • Ensures proper radiation safety protocols are followed
    • Notifies physician of elevated radiation doses
    • Participates in quality assurance initiatives
    • Manages supplies and equipment
    • Collaborates with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
    • Prepares to respond to emergencies and provide immediate assistance

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree OR; Degree from an accredited school of Radiologic technologist with Radiology Technologist (RT) Certification
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
    • Preferred: Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification

    Skills & Abilities

    • Willingness to participate in late shift rotations as required
    • Attention to detail and unwavering commitment to patient safety
    • Knowledge of EP procedures, including structural heart procedures, and equipment operation
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
