Cardiovascular & Electrophysiology Specialist III - Atrium Health CMC Main Cardiac Cath Lab FT

This position is available at the Cardiac Cath Lab at Carolinas Medical Center. Benefits are eligible and include a sign-on bonus based on eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates evidence-based practice and performs care for the comfort and wellbeing of the patient.
• Performs and/or assists with treatments, therapies, and procedures (including scrub assistant, monitoring and circulating) under the direction of the physician.
• Administers medication under the direct supervision of the physician, as appropriate.
• Documents a current clinical picture and records designated information in the patient record.
• Congveys relevant information to physicians and teammates.
• Calculates, interprets and analyzes data.
• Aids in the development of policies, procedures and standards of care reflective of current practice/literature.
• Highly recommended to participate in committee and governance activities.

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of high school and an accredited program of Cardiovascular/Cardiopulmonary technology, The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or related field required.
• If not licensed or certified (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, allied health professional will have up to 12 months to successfully obtain. Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist/Electrophysiology Specialist training or experience preferred).
• Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Technology program, such as Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or comparable.
• Graduate of Cardiovascular Interventional Program or minimum of two years of experience as a Cardiovascular Specialist.

Qualifications

• Intermittent to rapid pace with high pressure situations, requiring periods of prolonged concentration and critical thinking.
• Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift and support the weight of 50 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
• Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English.
• Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, manual dexterity, good eye hand coordination.
• Standing and walking while wearing 10-20 lbs lead radiation protection aprons.
• Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
• Potential exposure to radiation, secretions and blood.

Pay

Pay Range: $38.20 - $57.30

Schedule

Shift(s): 10-hour shifts, a combination of 4 weekdays M-F (assumed to be 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM). 12-hour shifts, a combination of 2 weekdays and 1 weekend day (assumed to be 6:30AM - 7PM).
