About the role
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Specialist provides direct patient care across the Cardiac Cath lab, Peripheral Vascular Lab, Cath Lab Holding Room, and Electrophysiology Lab as part of a multidisciplinary team. They assess patients' medical histories and conditions to prepare them for cardiac procedures, monitor and prepare specialized equipment, and ensure safety by adhering to universal precautions and using protective gear.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support cardiac and vascular procedures
- Educate patients about procedures and post-procedure care
- Maintain and prepare specialized equipment for cardiac and vascular interventions
- Monitor patients during procedures and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Participate in ongoing professional development and mentoring of team members
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Cardiovascular Technology, or Paramedic program
- 1–2 years of relevant clinical experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Licensure or certification appropriate to background:
- ARRT registration (for Radiology Technology)
- North Carolina Respiratory Care licensure (for Respiratory Therapy)
- EMT-P certification (for Paramedic background)
