Responsibilities
- Interprets cardiovascular cardiac rhythm.
- Identifies patient cardiac rhythm as observed on a monitoring device.
- Initiates appropriate action should ECG pattern change.
- Runs permanent rhythm strip when appropriate.
- Informs nurse in charge of pattern changes appropriate.
- Informs nurse in charge of pattern changes when appropriate.
- Identifies rhythm strip as to patient name, rate time, and interval reading.
- Ability to interpret arrhythmias including sinus arrest, pacemakers, aberrancy, and blocked beats.
- Ability to distinguish subtle EKG findings, concealed conduction, reciprocal conduction, trifascicular block, his bundle recording.
- Identify and describe pathophysiological effect on EKG rhythm.
- Performs all clerical duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum Work Experience: One (1) month to three (3) months on-the-job training to attain proficiency of performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS.

- Proficient in Windows, Word, and other basic computer skills.
- Detailed oriented and thorough.
- Communicates effectively with a wide variety of contacts at all levels of the organization and with external organizations.
- Maintains strict confidentiality with regard to protected health information and provider information.
- Displays a commitment to the Code of Ethics of their governing boards.
