About the role
The Cardiac Monitor Specialist plays a crucial role in patient safety by continuously observing cardiac rhythms and responding to alarms. Key responsibilities include:
- Continuous observation of monitored ECG patterns and pulse oximetry.
- Sets up, calibrates, and maintains settings and alarms on the telemetry module.
- Obtains rhythm strips at the beginning of each shift, on admission, and whenever changes occur.
- Recognizes changes in rate, rhythm, or pattern and obtains a documented ECG strip, immediately reporting all arrhythmias to the appropriate care team.
- Handles incoming and outgoing communications, answering questions and assisting staff according to established procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge of the technical operation and capabilities of the central monitoring station.
- Maintains alarm systems according to established protocols and responds appropriately to monitor alarms.
- Identifies and troubleshoots routine technical problems with the monitors and sends work orders for repairs.

Qualifications

- A high school diploma or equivalent upon hire.
- A Basic Life Support - CPR certification within 90 days.

Pay
The posted compensation range is $17.24 - $24.35 /hour, which is a reasonable estimate based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit Health may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
