Cardiothoracic Surgery
About the role
The division is the sole provider of cardiac and thoracic surgical services to a large and diverse population in Athens and the surrounding area in Northeast Georgia and practices all aspects of cardiac and thoracic surgery.
Responsibilities
- Full-time position with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in both cardiac and thoracic surgeries
- Performing approximately 450 open heart surgeries a year, more than 150 TAVRs yearly, plus transcatheter procedures including TEER, Watchman, and soon tricuspid interventions as well
- Joining two busy established surgeons who utilize the Intuitive Xi and DV5 robots for cardiothoracic surgical procedures
- Facile in all aspects of cardiac surgery (including emergent CABGs and aortic dissections)
- Collegiality and collaboration define our cardiac team at Piedmont
- Close working relationships within our team, and between us as cardiothoracic surgeons, clinical and interventional cardiology, heart failure, and electrophysiology partners
- Commitment to teamwork and excellence in patient care and patient safety to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients
Requirements
- Completion of ACGME accredited fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery
- Board certified/board eligible in cardiothoracic surgery
- Current Georgia medical licensure or the ability to obtain an unrestricted Georgia license
