Responsibilities

  • Provides high-quality age-appropriate care within the scope of practice and established standards for electrocardiography, pacemaker analysis, and cardiac stress testing.
  • Performs prescribed Non-Invasive Cardiology testing to identified patients.
  • Supports efforts to ensure safe patient care and services, promoting a safe environment at Children's.
  • Performs electrocardiogram procedures for interpretation incorporating age-related and developmental specific requirements.
  • Performs cardiopulmonary exercise testing and stress echo testing with respiratory gas measurements and spirometry in a clinical setting incorporating age-related and developmental specific requirements.
  • Performs Holter monitor placement and analysis incorporating age-related and developmental specific requirements.
  • Performs tilt table exams and analysis incorporating age-related and developmental specific requirements.
  • Affords assistance with pacemaker clinic as directed by physician incorporating age-related and developmental specific requirements.
  • Maintains accuracy of all patient documentation.
  • Maintains professional development.
  • Participates in achieving organizational and departmental goals.

Requirements

No prior experience is required. Preferred qualifications include experience in cardiology, pediatrics, and an understanding of electrocardiograms. Training in exercise stress testing is also preferred.

Qualifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required within 30 days of employment.

Skills

Good understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology and arrhythmias. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
