About the role
The Cardio Imaging Echo Tech position at Houston Methodist is responsible for performing a variety of routine echocardiograms, including Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), Plain Stress Echocardiogram, and advanced TTE with 3D imaging. This role also involves transmitting exams to compatible DICOM storage applications, processing preliminary technical data, and communicating significant findings to the attending reading physician.Responsibilities
- Performs routine echocardiograms including TTE, TEE, Plain Stress Echocardiogram, and advanced TTE with 3D imaging.
- Transmits exams to compatible DICOM storage applications.
- Processes preliminary technical data in designated interpreting systems.
- Communicates significant findings to the attending reading physician.
- May be required to be on-call for emergencies.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
- Successful completion of a clinical rotation in a cardiovascular echo sonography program or six months of cardiac sonographer experience.
- One of the following certifications: RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS); RDCS-AE - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - Adult Echocardiography (ARDMS); RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS); RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI); RVS - Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI).
