Cardiac Sonographer - Per Diem

This Cardiac Sonographer opportunity at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham is designed for professionals who love echocardiography but seek greater flexibility in their practice. You'll perform diagnostic cardiac imaging while enjoying the independence of per diem work, supporting patients across Northwest Washington, including Bellingham, Lynden, Sedro-Woolley, Anacortes, and Friday Harbor. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, allowing you to adapt studies in real time, investigate findings, and ensure physicians receive critical diagnostic information. Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and special procedures ultrasonography in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Use independent judgment to apply clinical cardiology knowledge, acoustic imaging technology, and problem-solving skills to optimize echocardiographic evaluations.
• Tailor and expand exams to ensure comprehensiveness and diagnostic accuracy.
• Serve satellite locations within the lower Northwest Network, including Bellingham, Lynden, Sedro-Woolley, Anacortes, and Friday Harbor.
• Meet travel assignments within these areas as required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Program (CAAHEP accredited program highly preferred).
• Completion of a minimum six-month full-time Cardiac Internship preferred.
• One year of experience as a cardiac sonographer preferred.
• RDCS or RCS certification required. New graduates have one year to obtain registration and must be ARDMS eligible upon hire.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).

Pay

Hourly compensation ranges from $50.16 to $75.29, with an additional 15% differential in lieu of benefits.

Schedule

Flexible per diem scheduling with 10-hour day shifts.
