Cardiac Sonographer

This is a Per Diem position with a Days shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiographic studies on patients.
• Completes the echocardiography worksheet with quantitative calculations, measurements, and descriptive information acquired during the study.
• Performs clerical procedures, including scheduling, answering phones, filing, notifying interpreting cardiologists, preliminary report circulation, material stocking, data entry, and charging.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of ultrasound and other equipment.
• Applies knowledge of the physical principles of ultrasound and ultrasound systems.
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of cardiac abnormalities to produce diagnostic echocardiograms.
• Produces complete anatomic and functional information for interpreting cardiologists.
• Makes quantitative calculations from echocardiographic data.
• Interacts and communicates effectively with employees, physicians, and patients.
• Demonstrates proficiency in CPR.
• Performs routine quality checks on ultrasound equipment.
• Works efficiently under pressure and independently, taking initiative as needed.
• Sets priorities and uses good judgment in decision-making.
• Shares on-call hours during evenings and weekends and is available to work overtime in emergency situations.

Requirements

• Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); or
• Currently enrolled in or have completed an ultrasound technology training program and obtain ARDMS or CCI certification within 12 months of hire.
• Previous experience as an Echocardiographer preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Pay

The pay scale for this position is $48.33 - $79.86 USD per hour. Compensation is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, certifications, and education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale based on years of experience.
