About the role
The Cardiac Study Center (CSC), in partnership with Pulse Heart Institute (PHI), is seeking a skilled Registered Cardiac Sonographer to join their dynamic team. Located in Spokane, WA, this position offers a predictable Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic echocardiograms using established protocols and adapt techniques to patient needs
- Prepare patients by explaining procedures, obtaining history, and ensuring comfort and safety
- Document procedures and confirm accurate patient data in the EMR
- Sanitize transducers, exam beds, and cables daily
- Conduct weekly and monthly system backups, purges, and preventative maintenance
- Collapse repairs with service technicians and verify functionality
- Log completed exams, record diagnostic codes, and maintain organized patient records
- Retrieve and prepare studies for physician review
- Absorb training new sonographers, students, and clinical staff
- Maintain required certifications and participate in continuing education
- Support lab accreditation and quality assurance standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinic staff to optimize workflow and patient outcomes
Requirements
- Graduate of a CAAHEP- or CMA-approved School of Diagnostic Ultrasound (or equivalent training per ICAEL standards)
- National Certification in echocardiography through ARDMS or CCI
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
Preferred
- Prior experience in cardiology or specialty imaging
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
