Cardiac Sonographer - 40hr - Day Shift - Henry Ford HospitalDetroit

Department: Cardiac Non-Invasive – Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit) is the primary location. Selected candidate must be able to travel between satellite locations including Fairlane, Pierson/Cottage, Sterling Heights, Second Ave, and Plymouth as needed.

Schedule

• Normal shift hours between 6:00 AM and 5:30 PM
• Must work 2 holidays a year
• Must work weekends based on department rotation

Responsibilities

Under the direction of a Cardiologist, performs diagnostic ultrasonic procedures for evaluation as prescribed by a physician. Requires knowledge and use of highly specialized equipment.

Requirements

• Completed requirements as a Cardiac Sonographer from an accredited program
• Must be eligible to sit for Registered Cardiac Sonographer designation from a national accreditation board
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer in an established hospital non-invasive cardiac testing unit (preferred)

Qualifications

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer within one year of hire

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

• Works in a patient care setting with occasional exposure to unpleasant patient care tasks
• Daily interaction with family members and staff
• Extensive walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and similar activities may be necessary
• Occasional interaction with disgruntled or unsatisfied patients and families
• Outside travel to satellite locations as necessary
