Cardiac Sonographer - 36hrs - Varied Shifts - St. John Hospital Detroit

About the role

This position involves performing echocardiograms, Dobutamine and exercise stress echocardiograms, and assisting with transesophageal echocardiograms under the direction of a cardiologist. The role requires knowledge of advanced imaging modalities such as strain and 3D imaging.

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiograms and stress tests as directed by a cardiologist.
• Assists with transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Knowledgeable in advanced imaging modalities such as strain and 3D imaging.

Requirements

• Completed requirements as a Cardiac Sonographer from an accredited program.
• Must be eligible to sit for Registered Cardiac Sonographer designation from the national accreditation board.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer in an established hospital non-invasive cardiac testing unit, preferred.

Licenses/Certifications Required

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer within one year of hire.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

• Works in a patient care setting with occasional exposure to unpleasant patient care tasks.
• Daily interaction with family members and staff.
• Extensive walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and the like may be necessary.
• Occasional interaction with disgruntled/unsatisfied patients and families.
• Outside travel to satellite locations as necessary.
