About the role
Review and analyze remote loop recorder, pacemaker, and ICD (defibrillator) transmissions with documentation requirements. Communicate device information to and from clinics, and collaborate with nurses and doctors.
Responsibilities
- Obtain the hospital pacemaker implant record/post-op hospital record and upload to the EHR.
- Verify all new patients are scheduled for appropriate follow-up post implant.
- Log all implantable device patients in device clinic data management software.
- Coordinate and manage patients in the device clinic data management software, as well as integrate and manage patients in multi-vendor’s websites.
- Assist with remote monitor connectivity and answer patient calls regarding device management.
- Check “end of life” patients from all clinics, arrange for office visits and interrogations as necessary.
- Review and analyze remote implantable device transmissions of multiple models and vendors; recognize arrhythmias, battery status, and any lead data available on the implantable device.
- Schedule device check and remote transmission appointments for patients.
- Manage inquiries via email or EHR from all clinics about patients with implantable devices.
- Familiar with ECG and cardiac rhythm recognition, including basic arrhythmias.
- Keep work area neat and organized.
- Report safety issues to team leader immediately.
- Work efficiently and manage time wisely; assist other employees when all duties are complete.
- Communicate any problems, difficulties, or concerns regarding job duties to the team leader.
- Perform all duties without significant error occurring with any regularity; meet all deadlines and timeframes for completion of assignments.
- Represent the organization in a professional manner at all times.
- Demonstrate acceptable ability to interact professionally with physicians, staff, patients, family members, insurance companies, and home health.
- Exhibit good communication skills with physicians, patients, team leaders, and co-workers at all times.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees to ensure optimum patient care.
- Adhere to the organization’s Compliance Plan, including following documentation guidelines and communicating compliance concerns.
- Perform accurate and complete documentation in the patient’s medical record, including both paper and electronic records.
- Work with EMR staff to maintain quality and support future EMR development.
- Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA standards of privacy and security.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Telemetry Technician experience preferred.
- Must have EKG knowledge.
