Responsibilities
- Maintains a wound and device check clinic schedule each week.
- Operates sophisticated computerized data acquisition and device interrogation equipment.
- Programs implantable cardiac devices to maintain appropriate heart rhythm and therapy, under the direction of a physician or by approved protocol.
- Evaluates and interprets heart rhythms in order to recommend and perform adjustments on implantable devices according to standard follow-up recommendations.
- Reprograms cardiac devices and defibrillators as appropriate for diagnostics and other procedures.
- Maintains a database of all patients with implantable devices.
- Answers patient calls and questions regarding rhythm-related concerns.
Qualifications
- Required: Associate's degree in a related field, or the equivalency.
- Licenses Required: Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire. * Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
