About the role
Responsible for assisting the physician in clinical care of all patients to include patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Will also have general responsibilities to assist in the day-to-day clinical operations of the office.
Responsibilities
- Assist physician in clinical care of all patients including patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Assist in day-to-day clinical operations of the office
- Occasionally use assistance of a student in performance of tasks
Qualifications
- 2 years' experience working with cardiac devices in electrophysiology clinic required (clinical rotation time considered)
- Minimum of 2 years working with cardiac devices, including pacemakers and ICDs strongly preferred
- Prior experience in cardiac device clinic preferred
- Previous experience in an electrophysiology or cardiac care setting is highly desirable
- Experience in medical practice preferred
- Experience with MURJ software for device management and reporting is preferred
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Two years of related experience
- Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures
- Must possess the sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards
- Must maintain high degree of confidentiality
- Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient's medical records, physician's orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital, and/or other physician
- Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians
Licenses & Certifications
- Healthcare Provider (CPR) required (BLS within 1 month)
- Certification as a Cardiac Device Specialist through IBHRE or equivalent required (or able to obtain within 3 years)
Education

- Bachelor's degree in a related healthcare field (e.g., Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Cardiovascular Technology, Exercise Science Physiology) strongly preferred but not required
