Responsibilities
- Perform remote monitoring of Implantable Cardiac Monitors (ICM), with interpretation of ECG, arrhythmia recognition, diagnostics.
- Document patient symptoms and report to an EP Provider.
- Manage patient's data in manufacturer remote monitoring websites, analyze and manage transmission, enter in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain data integrity with the system, promote patient compliance, and document patient symptoms.
- Possess good clinical judgment.
Essential Functions
- Knowledgeable in ECG analysis, ICM function and manufacturer’s website, inclusive of Medtronic, Abbott (St. Jude Medical), Biotronik, and Boston Scientific.
- Provides patient education and compliance with symptom recording and timely transmissions.
- Maintains alert management, assesses risk, determines proper notification and follow-up based on established criteria.
- Reports to Senior Cardiac Device Technician, or EP provider when interpretation is out of scope of expertise.
- Evaluates incoming evaluations, enters transmission data in EMR, enters appropriate charges, and creates reports for EP provider review.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One year ECG Monitor Technician experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Certified EKG Technician (CET) certification or equivalent preferred.
