What You Will Do (Administrative)
- Partner with leadership to identify staffing needs
- Aid in interviewing advanced practice providers and clinical staff
- Lead onboarding/training initiatives
- Support service line growth by fostering relationships with referring physicians
- Participate in outreach efforts
- Contribute to strategic planning for expanding surgical volumes and new service offerings
- Oversee day-to-day coordination of surgical schedules
- Staff coverage
- Implement process improvements to maximize OR efficiency
- Optimize patient flow
- Lead initiatives focused on clinical outcomes

What You Will Do (Clinical)
- Function as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room for cardiac procedures
- Position and drape patients under the direction of the surgeon
- Perform Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)
- Conduct comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physicals
- Round on post-op patients in ICU and step-down units
- Participate in a rotating schedule for weekend and night CVOR coverage
What You Need
- 10+ years of experience functioning as a surgical first assist in cardiac surgery
- Experience in taking independent call
- 3+ years of leadership experience as a Lead APP, supervisor, or in a managerial role within a surgical service line (preferred)
- Current Texas State License Board certification by the NCCPA (for PAs) or relevant board (for NPs)
- Active BLS and ACLS
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A strategic mindset and ability to collaborate across departments
