Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Cardiac Catheterization/Interventional Radiology or Invasive Tech I, performs a wide range of cardiac, interventional radiology and neurointerventional procedures using x-rays. Acquires knowledge regarding the Joint Commission (TJC) and Radiology standards.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Work Experience: One year of experience in cardiac catherization Interventional Radiology or Neuro Intervention required.
- Licenses/Registrations/Certifications:
- Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with Registered Technologist (R) (ARRT) required.
- or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) required; may be completed within six months of assuming the position.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required; may be completed within six months of assuming the position.
Education And Training
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree of Applied Sciences in Radiology preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge in appropriate Charge Description Master and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology).
- Knowledge of operating cath lab equipment and performing diagnostic imaging.
- Excellent knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and medical terminology.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Possesses critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
- Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist.
- Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
