About the Role
With minimal supervision, monitor, identify, assess, research, and resolve complex issues related to accounts, systems, vendors, processes & procedures, and compound operational issues within a particular business unit. Create action plans and design implementation plans for efficiencies and improvements, reviewing and presenting to business unit leadership and/or senior leadership. May lead, oversee, and coordinate team's daily productivity and training.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for essential duties performed by Card Payments Operations Business Analysts I, II, & III.
- Actively participate in project-oriented work efforts, problem identification and resolution, performance and productivity improvement, and quality enhancements including delivery, mergers & acquisitions, new product releases, systems conversions, and remediations.
- Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives and drive employee engagement activities.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, prioritizing, planning, and implementing process improvements.
- Review and decision escalated production issues for quick resolution while supporting continuous development of systems owned by the unit and upholding compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as SME and Trainer for multiple functions, duties, and responsibilities within a single business unit and across other Card Based Services Operations teams.
- Act as SME for multiple business units within Card Operations, recognized as a key teammate for various business units internal and external to Card Based Services Operations.
- Assist in the interpretation, implementation, and communication of policies for the business unit and Card Operations; contribute to updating and creating policies.
- Interact with internal and external auditors and bank examiners to review business processes, procedures, and practices.
- Review audit findings, develop mitigation plans in conjunction with manager and Card Operations Governance team.
- Provide feedback to manager on teammates' performance. This role may or may not have direct reports.
Requirements
- Meet the qualifications of a Card Payments Operations Business Analyst III position.
- 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within digital or electronic Payments-related areas.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound judgment calls, without supervision, related to issues with compliance and regulatory implications.
- Mastery of computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products.
- Professional, courteous, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work and think independently while actively engaged in a mutually supportive teamwork environment.
- Leadership and adaptability skills to handle changing and competing priorities based on business needs.
- Exemplary organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Payments and third-party vendor processing systems (MasterCard/Visa, TSYS, FIS, FiServ, FCR, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a leadership role.
- Previous experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in an Analyst role.
- Previous experience in a contributor role for special projects such as mergers & acquisitions, systems conversions, product development, etc.
- Experience with Payments and third-party vendor processing systems (Real Time Payments, Zelle, etc.).
