Caravan Seaplane Captain

This position is located at the home base Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport (TMB), Miami-Dade County, Florida, U.S. You must reside within one hour from this home base.

About the Role

The Caravan Seaplane Captain (PIC) plays a vital role in supporting company operations by transporting maintenance parts, supplies, and technicians to various worksites. This position is responsible for executing all assigned flight duties while ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of company aircraft. The PIC must adhere to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company procedures, prioritizing safety, precision, and operational excellence in every mission.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient flight operations for all trip assignments while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Maintain a high degree of professionalism, and ability to coordinate and lead deliveries.
• Greet passengers, assist with passenger seating, and manage luggage and freight storage.
• Review all customer service items including parts pick-up, parts drop-off, refueling, customs, and vendor communications during deliveries.
• Conduct passenger briefings when required.
• Adhere to the duties and responsibilities stated in all company procedures manuals.
• Maintain a current first-class medical certificate as required by policy and notify the company if a medical (physical or mental) condition may impair the ability to perform flight duties.
• Meet duty time limitations, rest requirements, be qualified, current, properly dressed, and possess all required certificates, licenses, and permits.
• Assume primary responsibility for the safety of the passengers and cargo.
• Comply with all Federal Aviation Regulations, Company Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, and Company Policies and Procedures.
• Update flight and duty records, determine eligibility for the next flight assignment, and ensure any aircraft maintenance discrepancies are reported in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
• Participate proactively in safety and quality systems by identifying, reporting, and mitigating hazards and quality issues; providing timely input to management; and applying systems processes to address quality and safety issues.
• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States without sponsorship.
• Strong organizational skills and advanced multi-tasking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal/written, and presentation skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Computer skills necessary to operate word processing, email, and web-based and/or mobile device applications.
• Passionate attention to detail and ability to work in a team atmosphere.
• Hardworking, problem solver, positive attitude, easy-going, and willing to travel and overnight away from base as needed.
• Participate in PDP mentorship program.
• FAA First Class Medical.
• Commercial Single Engine Land with Instrument Rating.
• IFR Proficiency and Currency.
• 1,200 total flight hours, including:
  • 500 hours PIC
  • 500 hours cross-country
  • 100 hours night
  • 75 hours instrument (50 hours in actual flight)
  • 100 hours Seaplane
• Highly knowledgeable of the General Operations manual, FAA Regulations, Operations Specifications, Flight Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, Policies and Procedures, and other pertinent information relating to this duty.
• Must be able to complete training program, demonstrating proficiency with job requirements.
• Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment, including verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and other relevant information.
• This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive role under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with FAA guidelines.

Schedule

• On-call position, with 5 hard days off per month.
• Home base is TMB.

Pay

• Annual Salary: $110,000.00
• Per diem: $66 per day (domestic), $85 per day (international) when overnight away from base.
