Car Repairman Assistant - LNGV

AITX Repair Services is seeking candidates for Railcar Repair Technician positions.

About the role

A Railcar Repair Technician at this facility will be responsible for all aspects of railcar repair and maintenance. Team members must read and understand blueprints, make car repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR rules, and maintain accurate repair records. They must also follow all company guidelines, quality assurance, and safety rules while performing job duties.

Responsibilities

• Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs
• Coordinate and complete repairs in an efficient manner and within assigned hours
• Follow all safety rules, keep work area clean, and comply with all AITX EHS Policies
• Ensure AAR, ARS, and customer quality assurance standards are met

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English at a high school level
• Ability to work in heat, cold, and all-weather conditions
• Comfortable working around heavy equipment, on top of and under railcars, and around railroad tracks
• Knowledge of machines and tools required to weld, cut, and gouge
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, including basic blueprints and schematics
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
