About the role

This position will partner with various customer-facing function leaders to ensure desired outcomes for the Customer Centricity Organization. The Capital Project Procurement Specialist utilizes advanced supply chain and capital projects knowledge and experience to implement Supplier Commercial Excellence for an assigned Customer, Marketing, and Innovation Portfolios within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure SC engagement in the capital project, innovation and agile process are met.
  • Actively engage and collaborate with external and internal customer initiatives across the Customer-Centricity and Supply Chain organization on pilots and special commercial projects with Entergy’s cross-functional deal teams.
  • Support commercial partnership initiatives.
  • Facilitate supplier’s journey and engagement within the customer organization.
  • Actively promote strong safety behaviors and ensure the team always puts safety first.
  • Utilize key tools, programs, and proactive field visits to assure standards and behaviors.
  • Monitor and influence suppliers to proactively identify any safety concerns.
  • Perform storm role duties as assigned through the Storm Assignment Management System (SAMS).
  • Accountable for the development and execution of progressive commercial strategies, with the business functions, in support of objectives to drive value and service delivery and enable favorable outcomes for all key stakeholders.
  • Support the deployment of capital funds in line with Entergy’s strategies.
  • Develop commercial strategies and contract plans aligned to project needs; maximize leverage through aggregation opportunities across similar scopes of work; maximize value through optimization of price, contract terms, performance standards, and service levels.
  • Execute Bid–Evaluate–Award activities in line with SC policy and processes.
  • Ensure alignment of project behaviors to contractually.
  • Manage compliance to contract provisions and administer contract change orders in collaboration with the project manager and the project change process.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers based on the highest ethical business practices as set forth in the Standards of Conduct and Integrity and Entergy's Supply Chain Polices.

Requirements

  • Education, Experience and/or Certification:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or other related discipline and minimum 5+ years of combined supplier contracting, capital projects, or other related supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum 9+ years of combined supplier contracting, capital projects, or other related supply chain experience; Minimum 1.5+ years’ energy industry experience in capital projects contracting and procurement.
    • Cap Proj Procur Spec Sr: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or other related discipline and minimum 9+ years of combined supplier contracting, capital projects, or other related supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum 13+ years of supplier contracting, capital projects, or other related supply chain experience; Minimum 3+ years’ energy industry experience in capital projects contracting and procurement.
    • Cap Proj Procur Spec Sr Staff: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or other related discipline and minimum 12+ years of combined supplier contracting, capital projects, or other related supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum 16+ years of supplier contracting, capital projects, or other related supply chain experience; Minimum 3+ years’ energy industry experience in capital projects contracting and procurement.
  • Minimum 6+ years’ supply chain experience in capital projects contracting and procurement with a preference for electric utility experience.
  • Certification from an industry accreditation organization such as CPSM, APICS, etc.

  • Advanced understanding of Entergy’s business model, the capital projects portfolio, and key interfaces across the business and SC.
  • Skilled application of commercial management processes (plan, strategy, source and perform); including supplier diversity, safety metrics and tools.
  • Skilled application of market intelligence to assess supply market status and evolution.
  • Advanced knowledge of Entergy’s policies and processes and application to contracts.
  • Skilled in creating capital project contracting strategies and methodologies (e.g., EPC, Fixed Price, T&M); advise/influence on best strategy.
  • Skilled in creating negotiation strategies and leading negotiations for complex contracts within a capital project environment.
  • Advanced expertise in the development of high quality, thorough project Scopes of Work, Scopes of Supply, Lists of Deliverables, and Divisions of Responsibility.
  • Skilled in creating detailed RFx price breakdowns and deconstructing vendor pricing models to support financial analysis and bid comparison.
  • Skilled in identifying opportunities to aggregate for commercial leverage and drive opportunities across the enterprise.
  • Skilled in supplier performance / relationship management strategies and processes.
  • Skilled in project management principles to ensure systematic, thorough completion of each assignment, identifying critical pathways and risks to delivery.
  • Skilled in commercial skills and financial acumen to capital projects, understanding the key business drivers and impact to Entergy on outcomes.
  • Skilled in data analysis methods/techniques to provide detailed reports and insights propose conclusions, use data trends and present in meaningful way.
  • Skilled at coaching other supply chain personnel in capital projects technical tools and techniques.
  • Skilled at internal and external stakeholder communications; operates independently with stakeholders; apply influencing skills to develop best outcomes for Entergy.
  • Skilled at building broad relationships and effective networks with all stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of the management of change relative to supply chain situations.
  • Strong understanding of how to effectively manage the costs of the business.
  • Strong communication skills in presenting concise/relevant information to stakeholders.
