About the role
The Capital Projects Manager is responsible for overseeing all capital projects within the New Orleans Public Schools system, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders including architects, contractors, and school districts.Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the capital improvement plan for the district.
- Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of school facilities.
- Ensure adherence to budget constraints and timelines.
- Manage relationships with architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Coordinate with school boards and community members on project updates.
- Prepare and present reports to the board of education.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in capital project management.
- Experience working with public sector entities.
- Knowledge of state and federal building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with project management software such as Primavera P6.
