About the role
The Operations Services team, primarily located in Wichita, KS, supports multiple projects across KAES sites. This role is based in Wichita and is eligible for relocation. Travel is 25%, with increased travel during outages or turnaround events. This role offers a hybrid working model.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support multiple small to large size capital improvement projects (approximately $500k to $100M+) in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner to improve unit/plant operations (size and complexity dependent on experience)
- Facilitate cross-discipline teams with plant personnel, business development, executive leadership, and other internal and external partners through the Project Process to define objectives, develop scope, and implement project execution plans to design, install, and commission key projects
- Guide the integrated project team to perform disciplined front end loading, secure funding, and execute projects in a way that delivers project objectives
- Steward competitive cost, schedule, and quality while capturing key business bets through application of economic thinking and Koch’s Decision-Making Framework
- Develop and maintain Koch’s project culture
- Communicate effectively and recognize opportunities for value creation and business improvements
- Manage multiple projects in various stages in the project life cycle
- Support knowledge sharing and training within the Operations Services team to develop and further enhance team members' technical skills
Requirements
- 3+ years of plant experience in an ammonia, refining, energy, chemicals, or closely related industry with exposure to supporting capital projects
- 3+ years of project management experience in a related industry
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline or construction management
- Experience managing multiple small to medium capital projects
- 5+ years of experience in project/construction management, planning, or execution coordination
