About the role

Horvath & Tremblay’s Capital Markets team arranges commercial real‑estate financing for a wide range of property types. The role provides debt placement and consulting services to commercial real‑estate operators, requiring assessment of client needs, relationship building, and delivery of exceptional client service from engagement through transaction closing.

Responsibilities

• Provide debt placement and consulting services to commercial real‑estate operators.
• Assess client needs, build and maintain client relationships, and ensure excellent follow‑up service.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities with owners, investors, brokers, and other industry professionals.
• Manage and contribute to the financing process from initial client engagement through transaction closing.
• Evaluate financing options and research lending sources that align with client objectives and transaction requirements.
• Prepare and contribute to client presentations, financing packages, and other transaction‑related deliverables.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to drive successful transaction execution and deliver exceptional client service.
• Develop and apply knowledge of commercial real‑estate capital markets, lending structures, and financing strategies through ongoing experience and collaboration.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience within commercial real‑estate lending as a lender or third‑party.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, Economics, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Proven underwriting capabilities.
• Demonstrated interest in commercial real‑estate, capital markets, and structured finance.
• Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and results‑driven approach.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to interpret financial information.
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and effectively communicate financial information.
