Capital/Fixed Asset Consultant

HCA is a 40‑plus‑year‑old multi‑million‑dollar family‑owned consulting and appraisal firm that provides inventory and appraisal services to corporate, university, and government clients throughout the United States.

HCA is seeking candidates with accounting degrees and experience in GASB compliance for a remote, salaried consultant position that involves regular travel to Kansas, Missouri, and other states.

About the role

• 100% remote (W‑2) position with regular overnight travel (50%–70% of the time) to client locations across the country.
• Training in equipment inventories, cost segregation, space utilization studies, and commercial building construction.

Responsibilities

• Collect and locate equipment at universities, colleges, and hospitals.
• Analyze data for project planning, execution, and closure.
• Collaborate with senior team members to solve client‑specific challenges.
• Apply GASB 34 compliance knowledge to interpret data.
• Interface with clients via meetings or telephone to discuss project scope and findings.
• Learn basic principles of commercial building construction.

Requirements

• 2–4 years public accounting experience with city/county GASB 34 compliance.
• Accounting degree.
• Expertise in Excel; experience with Access is helpful.
• Proficiency in MS Word.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel overnight 50%–70% of the time.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and strong problem‑solving skills.
