Accounting Consultant (Fixed Assets)

About the role

Vaco Atlanta is seeking an experienced Accounting Consultant with strong Fixed Asset accounting experience to provide interim support. This consultant will manage and oversee fixed asset and capital accounting processes, ensuring data integrity, continuity of operations, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations for fixed assets, including asset creation, depreciation calculations, disposals, transfers, and post-capitalization reviews.
• Monitor and track Capital Work-in-Progress (CWIP) and internal project costs, ensuring accurate accumulation and timely capitalization of assets upon project completion.
• Execute month-end close activities related to fixed assets, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Utilize SAP to maintain the fixed asset ledger, troubleshoot system issues related to assets, and run necessary financial reports.
• Prepare regular roll-forward schedules, depreciation forecasts, and compliance reporting. Ensure alignment with GAAP and internal controls (SOX compliance).
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audit requests regarding fixed asset documentation and tracking.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field is strictly required.
• Experience: 4+ years of dedicated corporate accounting experience, with a heavy emphasis on fixed assets or capital accounting.
• Technical Skills: * ERP: Strong, demonstrable proficiency in SAP (Fixed Asset module) is required. Strong experience with Oracle or Sage will be considered.
• Excel: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, complex formulas, and data manipulation).
• Attributes: High level of attention to detail, ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Pay & Benefits

Pay for this engagement is targeted at $55 per hour, negotiable based on experience. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
