CAPEX Procurement Manager

CAPEX Category Manager Location: Mobile, AL Compensation: $130,000 - $145,000 Base + Bonus Relocation Assistance AvailableA leading industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a CAPEX Category Manager to support capital investments and sourcing initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on procurement professional who enjoys balancing strategic sourcing with day-to-day execution and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies for CAPEX, capital projects, plant equipment, and related services.Partner with plant leadership, engineering, operations, and project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supplier performance.Lead RFQs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution for capital projects and equipment purchases.Analyze plant spending, identify sourcing opportunities, and implement procurement strategies that drive value and reduce total cost.Manage supplier relationships and support vendor qualification, performance management, and risk mitigation activities.Support equipment purchases, facility upgrades, plant expansions, and other capital investments across manufacturing operations.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to overall procurement performance and savings targets. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred.5+ years of procurement, sourcing, category management, or purchasing experience within manufacturing, industrial, chemical, building materials, mining, metals, paper, or related industries.Experience supporting capital projects, plant equipment procurement, MRO, engineering services, construction services, or CAPEX categories.Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract management experience.Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, finance, and plant leadership.Experience utilizing spend analysis to identify and execute savings opportunities.
